Born and raised in the Midwest, Mandi has pursued many opportunities to help local youth in her community through various art formats. She has participated in an Improvisational Acting Troupe which focused on helping children learn about cultural awareness and tolerance, as well as conflict resolution. She has volunteered with a non-profit organization helping the children of refugee families acclimate to life in the United States. Language was often a barrier, but she soon realized that music and dance could breach that and allow a common ground to be found across cultures and ages.
Currently, Mandi has been enjoying her time as a stay-at-home mom for the last seven years. In addition to her “mom” duties, she has worked as a nanny for a local family, volunteered as the Head Coach and Vice President for the Corbett Cheer Club (grades K-8), helped in her children’s classrooms’ in the Corbett School District, organized a playgroup with a local library, as well as volunteered in the nursery and with the children’s ministry of her family’s church. Education and a deep love for Christ have always been an important part of her life, and that of her family’s. Mandi realizes that the curiosity and sense of discovery for the preschool-age child, in a setting like SHINE, fosters growth, compassion, and a love for Christ above all else. She feels blessed to be able to collaborate with Teacher Tina, and is excited to see how Christ weaves His way into our hearts!
